Adoptable Cats Litter 5

Description

I had fun doing all of these cats! Why? Because they were all based off of real cat breeds! I included which breed each kitty was based off of, in case you are interested in that. But none of them have to be memebers of those breeds if you don't want them to be. Most cat breeds started out as just individuals having unique markings or other features anyways.

I left out my version of the Burmilla because I decided to keep him to be Morningstar's son, Tumblefoot. Sorry! As it is, I'm also considering to keep #21 to be the design for my medience cat, Willowbreeze. Nothing's definite, so you guys can have a shot at that one... if you're willing to go the extra mile for it.

As usual, lineart is from :iconsailorharmony2000:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Rules~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
:bulletblue: Please comment and draw an original picture of the cat (and upload the pic so I can see). Post the link on the deviation page where you found the cat. These cats won't go home with just anyone; earn their loyality by appealing to their vainity.
:bulletblue: It's first come, first serve: first one to draw and post an original drawing gets the cat. I will only hold cats for extraordinary circumstances.
:bulletblue: Please limit to one per deviation so others can have an opportunity to adopt too. You are welcome to adopt from different 'litters' but try to keep it to a minimum. Do not adopt from every litter because it is not fair to first-time adopters.
:bulletblue: I'd also like to know what you'll name the cat, what you plan to do with it, and such, but that's not really neccassry.
:bulletblue: I reserve the right to change the rules as I see fit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Special Rules~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To adopt a star kitty you must go above and beyond normal adopters in addition to following the above rules.

:bulletblue: You must make up a history and personality for the cat in question as well as give him or her a name, age, etc. Post it with the application picture.

:bulletblue: Second instead of just one application picture, you must agree to post several pictures for a month. Star kitties hate feeling neglected and will try to find their way back here. So draw pictures of them! This is to show you are serious about caring for the cat. You can also write stories about them or you can do one of my characters even (cause I love fanart). Don't forget to upload them on dA. After a month, these kitties will feel at home, and you won't have to cater to them as much.

#16:
My version of a Ragdoll, one of the largest breeds of cats. I love ragdolls; they're so placid and sweet, and the one that was neutered at my extern site was so good afterwards. The receptist was nervous about handling him on her own because of his size, but he didn't give her any trouble at all! These kitties have what look like hound-markings because they inherit the Himalayan (pointed) pattern and the gene for white spotting. Ragdolls have longer hair than this on their chest, belly, hindlegs, and tail (they're fluffballs!), but you don't need to make this kitty long-haired if you don't want to.

Here's a Somali, the fox-like breed of cat. They're the long-haired version of Assbyians, though they do not have as too much hair in my opinion-- just a fringe on their chest, belly, and what's called a plume tail in the dog world. I opted out of doing a fox-like somali, and went instead for another colour in the breed. This one is based on a red-silver version of the breed... although in real-life the colour is much more subtle than this. As with #16, you do not have to make this cat a long-haired kitty if you don't want to.

#18:
Boy, on this lineart my Birman looks more like a Snowshoe (like Goosewing)! I guess coat-length is the only obvious difference between the two breeds although the Birman breed is much older and wasn't developed in the USA. I hate how my version's face came out! The breed tends to have a diamond-shaped pattern on their face, but I couldn't get it to look right. As mentioned, Birmans have long-hair, similar to a Ragdoll's but nowhere near as much as a Persian. I would rather this kitty stay long-haired so it wouldn't look so much like a Snowshoe, but it's up to you.

Name: Sparta
Do you guys have any idea how long it took to do this one cat?!? At least it wasn't as hard as the Bengal-- I could just use the circle tools in Paint for the spots here. Anyways this is a charcoal-coloured Eygptian Mau, the cat placed on kitties from anicent Eygpt as seen in old scrolls. These kitties are more well-known as lighter-coloured individuals, but I based mine off a dark colour individual. I think it makes this cat more unique. And yes the real cat who was used as my model had a darker head like that. Maus are short-haired cats, so the lineart works fine here.

#20: adopted by :iconkaisertiger:
Name: Crowtalon
Gender: male
Many stray cats in the Far East seem to have odd, bobbed tails. I guess it's just a common trait over there. Anyways this is the most well-known of bobbed cats, the Japanese bobtail. And this kitty is the version called the 'mi-ke' the preferred colour of the breed. Mi-ke's look like mostly white calicos, but they might not be. I honestly don't know. Oh well, consider this one a freebie in regards to my normal 'calico rules:' it can be male or female and both can have kittens. I can just say this one's my one male calico capable of having kittens; it happens in real life though it's even rarer (and none pass on their markings to male offspring).

#21: adopted by :iconsinful-souls:
Name: Kenny
Gender: male
Finally, here's the kitty I'm thinking of keeping. This one's based off of a Javanese, one of the two long-haired Siamese breeds. Unlike the other long-haired breed, Javanese have tabby stripes on their points. What sets them even further apart is that many of them have very faint points so that the dark stripes look like they are on a white background! Although these kitties are considered long-haired, I think it would be more approriate to call them medium-haired since they only seem to have long hair on their plume tail! This kitty can be long-haired or short-haired; I don't care either way. Just be prepared for a little more work to adopt it.

Update:
I've come up with a design that I like better for Willowbreeze, so #21 isn't in the running for that anymore. However I'm going to keep it as a 'star kitty' for now cause I feel kind of bad demoting it to regular status.

Uploaded a new image to show which cats have been adopted. :)

I drew number #17, and would love it if you would look at it. [link]
