Silent Night

Yay, I know the title is kinda lame. I guess it kinda fits though. ^^

Guess who got a digital camera for the holidays?!? Not quite as reliable as a scanner but better than nothing. Anyways, this is a drawing I did of Kaisertiger's kits from Moonstar Clan. I have no idea how old each of them are in relation to each other, so I just made them all the same age.... though I messed up with the last kit who came out smaller than the others. I guess this could be thought of as a gift in exchange for the awesome picture she did of Blizzard for me or an early birthday present (lol, her b-day is 3 days after mine!), but I actually drew this back in November!

The first two (from the left-hand side) are two of my kits who are living their second of their 9 lives in her Clan.... I guess that's a good enough explanation. The real reason isn't as interesting. Puddlekit is the Siamese-looking one and Bumblekit is the cameo (cream) tabby.

The other 3 kits were all created by Kaisertiger. The tabby one is Tawnykit, the orange one is Lionkit, and the white one is Snowkit.

Puddlekit-- I always see him as more serious and a bit solemn (prob. because he died within minutes of his birth in my stories) whom Bumblekit likes to tease, but I have no idea how he'll be depicited in Moonstar Clan. I think it's obivious why he was named 'uddlekit.' He doesn't really look like anyone else in the nursery. I tend to think that's because his mother died trying to save him and his littermate during the forest fire that killed the Clan's former leader. But it's up to Kaisertiger about what to do with him.

Bumblekit-- In my stories, she's a bubbly little she-cat who loved to play. In my few drawings of her with Puddlekit, she's always annoying him because they have different personalities. ^^ I named her Bumblekit because in my first drawings of her I thought she looked a lot like a bumblebee in colour and markings. I tend to see her as Snowkit's littermate in Moonstar Clan because they have similar colours, but as with Puddlekit, it's up to Kaisertiger to decide who will be her family in her Clan. I messed up her face markings in this drawing-- Kaisertiger does them so much better than me. ^^

Tawnykit-- Tawnykit is the daughter of Sandfur and Tigerstripe and sister to Lionkit. She inherited her father's eartuffs. I know her out-stretched paw looks odd-- it was fine before I inked it. >_< Both she and Lionkit (and their father) have the same markings on the forehead Willowbreeze has, but that wasn't intentional on my part. At least they are not the same colours.

Lionkit-- Lionkit is the son of Sandfur and Tigerstripe. He was named in honor of his grandfather, Lionfang, in the hopes he would grow to be as noble warrior as Lionfang. You can't see them here, but he has those markings that lion cubs have on their legs. I hope he keeps them as he grows up.

Snowkit-- Snowkit is the son of Morningflower and Cloudfoot. His father, Cloudfoot, died alongside the Clan's former leader during a forest fire. He has an older brother, Lightpaw, who is odd-eyed. I orginally thought Snowkit was odd-eyed, but it was just my anicent moniter throwing off his colours.


The orignal drawing is on regular computer paper, drawn in your run-of-the-mill pencil, and then inked. They were coloured with Crayola coloured pencils. The background and frame are the only parts of the image that were done on the computer (unless you include erasing the orginal background). Those were done in MS Paint via the 'copy-and-paste' method. The bg came from Mircosoft and the frame was found online. Nothing fancey at all.

But I think my editting skills in Paint have improved 'cause I found erasing the original background so much easier. Sadly I couldn't rotate the image the way you can in Photoshop; my attempts in Paint and Mircosoft Publisher distorted the drawing too much. So I just left it kind of crooked. But what do you expect from an image taken with a digital camera instead of a scanner?
